Abstract

Conceived on the occasion of the first edition of "Unimc for Inclusion", an initiative promoted by the University of Macerata, the volume intends to propose, in a single collective work, theoretical coordinates and operational trajectories applicable in plural contexts, including training whether they are educational, aggregated or residential. The paradigm of inclusion is therefore investigated on the basis of its declinations, as well as multiple perspectives of research, through a variety of thematic insights. Implementation challenges, laboratory proposals and design hypotheses that come to life in the text, offering the reader practical ideas for reflection and experimentation with an inclusive character. For these reasons, this book is particularly recommended to pedagogues, teachers and educators, both in training and in service, because in their profession they are constantly called upon to engage in "inclusion tests".

Abstract

The public is generally enthusiastic about the latest science and technology, but sometimes research threatens the physical safety or ethical norms of society. When this happens, scientists and engineers can find themselves unprepared in the midst of an intense science policy debate. In the absence of convincing evidence, technological optimists and skeptics struggle to build consensus. In these situations, it is best to sidestep the instigating controversy by using a broad risk-benefit assessment as a risk exploration tool to help scientists and engineers accomplish their goals while avoiding physical or moral dangers. Dangerous Science explores the intersection of science policy and risk analysis to determine ways to minimize negative impacts of science and technology on society.

Abstract

The contrapuntal readings practiced in the present volume, which are based on different ways of thinking and seeing reality, call into question the sorting and classifications practiced up to now. Migration is not degraded to a collaborative research centre, but is rather seen as a social analysis and placed at the centre of scientific considerations. The focus is on approaches and ideas in which historical developments and global changes are thought from the perspective and experience of migration, without however overlooking the asymmetrical power relations and structural inequalities. The Motto "Migration moves and forms" expresses this attitude. - Die in dem vorliegenden Band praktizierten kontrapunktischen Lesarten, die auf anderen Denkhaltungen und Wirklichkeitsauffassungen beruhen, suspendieren lang eingeübte Sortierungen und Klassifikationen. Migration wird nicht zu einem Sonderforschungsbereich degradiert, sondern als Gesellschaftsforschung betrachtet und ins Zentrum wissenschaftlicher Überlegungen gerückt. Im Mittelpunkt stehen Zugänge und Gedanken, in denen historische Entwicklungen und globalgesellschaftliche Zusammenhänge aus der Perspektive und Erfahrung von Migration gedacht werden, ohne jedoch die asymmetrischen Machtverhältnisse und strukturellen Ungleichheiten zu übersehen. Das Motto "Migration bewegt und bildet" bringt diese Haltung zum Ausdruck.
